Gleiber joins Saarbrücken on loan

21-year-old midfielder to gain more first-team experience with the third-tier side

Daniel Gleiber will join 1. FC Saarbrücken on loan for the coming season. The 21-year-old midfielder, who featured predominantly for Mainz’s U23s in the fourth division last season, is hoping to gain more first-team experience with the ambitious club from Saarland.

Mainz 05 sporting director Niko Bungert said: “Daniel has done an excellent job as part of our first-team squad over the past two years and has continued to develop. Given the strong competition for places in his position, a loan move to 1. FC Saarbrücken is now the logical next step to help him continue that progress.”
