First-round DFB-Pokal match to take place on 23rd August

FSV to travel to face VfB Krieschow

Mainz 05 won away at Dynamo Dresden in the first round of the DFB-Pokal last season (l. Danny da Costa).

The dates and kick-off times for the first round of the 2026/27 DFB-Pokal were announced by the German Football Association on Wednesday. 1. FSV Mainz 05 will play away at fifth-division side VfB Krieschow on Sunday, 23rd August at 15:30 CEST. Krieschow, which has a population of 500, will host the match at their home ground near Cottbus.

Fans will face a long trip to get there, with Krieschow located nearly 600 kilometres from Mainz.
