Further friendlies announced with 05ers to face Eisbachtal and Kaiserslautern

FSV’s pre-season schedule is taking shape now, with a behind-closed-doors clash against a local rival coming up

On 1st July 2026 at 11:00 CEST, the 1. FSV Mainz 05 first team will reunite for their first regular training session ahead of the 2026/27 season. The days prior will see the obligatory medical examinations and performance tests take place. Just three days after the players get underway in their pre-season preparations, Mainz’s first friendly fixture of the summer will see the Bundesliga side take on local club partner TSG Pfeddersheim (kick-off 16:00 CEST, 4th July).

The complete pre-season programme will see Urs Fischer’s team take part in eight friendly matches, with a further two now confirmed. The 05ers will follow up their visit to Pfeddersheim with a trip to another lower-ranked side in Sportfreunden Eisbachtal, with the ball set to roll at the Nentershausener Eisbachstadion at 16:00 CEST on 11th July. A more serious challenge will come almost a week later, as FSV host 2. Bundesliga outfit 1. FC Kaiserslautern for four 30-minute rounds, all to be played behind closed doors.
