Niko Bungert, FSV sporting director: “Eric is a player who brings a lot of Bundesliga experience to the table and has been able to showcase his qualities for several years already. At the same time, he’s also still got room to develop and is highly-motivated to continue improving. We’re delighted to have convinced him to do that here in Mainz. Eric covers a lot of ground and is strong in the tackle, and will also be a great presence within our dressing room.”
