1. FSV Mainz 05 will play French side RC Strasbourg in a friendly on Saturday, 9th August. Kick off at the MEWA ARENA is at 15:30 CEST. Racing, like FSV, finished sixth last season, and will take part in the UEFA Conference League in 2025/26.
The friendly will be part of the club’s season opening event, which will take place at the MEWA ARENA this year. A wide range of activities will include a team presentation at the stadium.

To kick off the new season, 05ers can look forward not only to the friendly against RC Strasbourg, but also to a wide-ranging programme for all ages. The event begins at 12:00 CEST with a stage show outside the Gemünden Bau stand, featuring live music and interviews. The women’s team will also be introduced to the fans. Behind the MEWA Stand, a large children’s and family area with numerous attractions will be set up. The men’s squad will be presented on the pitch shortly before the match. After the game, fans can look forward to a signing session with the entire squad in the outdoor area. Further details about the full programme will be announced in due course.
