Silas is set to be transported back to Mainz by air ambulance, following his injury in Olomouc.
1. FSV Mainz 05 will be without Silas Katompa Mvumpa for the foreseeable future, after the winter signing suffered a fractured tibia and fibula in his left left during the club’s UEFA Conference League first-leg round of 16 tie at SK Sigma Olomouc. The injury occurred after an unfortunate collision with an opposition player.
After being monitored overnight at the university hospital in Olomouc, Silas will now be transported back to Mainz by special air ambulance. He will then be brought to the Centre for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz for further surgical treatment.
