Sunday afternoon’s Bundesliga opener proved to be especially disappointing for the home-grown talent.
1. FSV Mainz 05 will have to go without Paul Nebel for the upcoming games away to VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon and at home to RB Leipzig (13th September). The midfielder denied a clear goalscoring opportunity in the game against 1. FC Köln and was subsequently sent off.
FSV have accepted the ruling of the DFB, meaning the two-match ban is now official.
