Mainz head to training camp with 28 players
Mainz squad set to grow in the coming days
On Monday afternoon, 1. FSV Mainz 05 will check into their team hotel, the Hohe Salve Sportresort in Hopfgarten-Markt, Austria, with an initial group of 28 players. There, Mainz will continue their preparations for the 2026/27 season, which begins at the end of August, before returning on 5 August. The team will train daily at the stadium of the nearby Wörgl sports centre, where the first public session is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 10:30. Following their arrival, only a running session is planned.
Alongside numerous on-pitch training sessions, FSV also have two stern international tests awaiting them on Friday and Saturday.

Apart from Silvan Widmer, who is not expected back at Bruchweg until 6 August, the national-team players Nadiem Amiri, Jae-sung Lee, Phillipp Mwene and Kaishu Sano will also join up with the squad during the training camp. Alexander Schwolow is also expected to arrive in the coming days, once he has played the Champions League qualifying second leg for Scottish runners-up Heart of Midlothian against Sturm Graz.
