As part of its international strategy, 1. FSV Mainz 05 has continued to build a strong connection with Louisville, Kentucky – the official sister city of Mainz – through a series of programs during the 2024/25 season.
Over the course of four trips to Louisville this season, our team focused on youth development and coach education. Mainz 05 coaches led training programs for young players and hosted clinics for local coaches, sharing our club’s philosophy and methodology. A particular highlight was our participation in the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association (KYSA) Coaches Convention, where we were able to engage directly with the regional coaching community.
Both the player development sessions and the coaching clinics were successfully concluded last week, as a Mainz 05 coach traveled to Louisville to wrap up the final phase of the program on-site.
We’re proud of the progress made and look forward to continuing this meaningful exchange between our two cities.
