“Makes us hungry for more”
Match reaction to the draw against VfB Stuttgart

Niko Bungert: “Overall, we’re left feeling disappointed after our last two games, because we haven’t scored nearly enough goals, given both the amount of chances we’ve created and the quality we have on the pitch. We should have won one of those two games. As a result, I’m definitely feeling a bit disappointed. On the other hand, we faced two top teams and we’re talking about feeling disappointed after 'only' drawing against them – that also says a lot. We could have made things easier for ourselves. Stuttgart showed us how to make the most of just a handful of chances. At the same time, this game makes us hungry for more and has us convinced that the team are on the right path, which is a good feeling to have. I’m confident that we will be able to continue picking up points over the next weeks.”
Danny da Costa: “I don’t want to be negative, because that would be too harsh. We do feel like we dropped points today, however. What defines us as a team is the fact that we always believe in ourselves, even if something like today happens, where we conceded twice after losing our shape. We were all frustrated, but we managed to come back. I didn’t feel relieved after we scored, because we all felt like we’re capable of more and that we could manage to turn the game around – that would have been deserved. We’re not really thinking about if there's any added strain with also playing in Europe. I didn’t think of that as an issue last autumn either. We need to make things easier for ourselves in the games, and I don’t think it’s a question of fatigue. Mentally, we’re also strong. We’re very much looking forward to a tough match on Thursday and then the game in Bremen on Sunday.”
Paul Nebel: “It took us a bit to settle into the game today, but then we still managed to put in a strong performance. It’s obvious that we need to become better at finishing our chances in order to put the game to bed, as we would have won if we’d managed that. The last two games have done me a world of good, even if the results didn’t go to plan. I’ve been able to get myself into the right positions again, I feel good and I'm hoping that it now continues on like that. When you’re not the first choice, then it’s up to you to make sure that you do everything you can during the week to ensure that you’re part of the team on the weekend. I think it was clear to see that I’m capable of doing that. It wasn’t easy, but sometimes it’s important to go through situations like that, in order to emerge stronger in the end.”
