2025/26 fixture schedule announced: FSV begin at home to promoted side

Away in Dortmund during carnival weekend before a trip to Heidenheim on final day

The 05ers are hoping to start the new campaign with as much vigour as they ended the last.

On Friday afternoon, the DFL published the fixture list for the 2025/26 season, which is set to kick off on the weekend from 22nd to 24th August. The schedule sees 1. FSV Mainz 05 host 1. FC Köln at the MEWA ARENA on opening day, which is sure to be a Sunday afternoon clash, since Mainz play the first leg of their UEFA Conference League group stage qualifying tie just three days earlier. The same applies to the contest away to VfL Wolfsburg on matchday two, which follows the second leg of the 05ers’ continental fixture.
