Niko Bungert: “The team and the coaching staff did an amazing job. We were close to three points, but still take one with us. We have to be satisfied with that and with our performance. The penalty was quite soft, which is frustrating, but it’s outweighed by all the positives from this evening. A lot has gone against us recently.”

Stefan Bell: “We’re obviously disappointed to concede a late equaliser, but overall, I’m proud of the performance we put in from start to finish. It’s tricky to keep Bayern from creating so many chances. We defended with everything we had and got a bit of luck here and there. We had a tactical setup that we executed perfectly and a real sense of purpose. There were some points where we sat really deep, which made things difficult.”

Lennard Maloney: “It was so tough after 85 minutes. We knew we wouldn’t have much of the ball today. That was fine for this game against Bayern. What we did together as a unit was the key to our success today. Bayern have extraordinary quality, but we showed we can stand up to them.”
