DFL schedule first five matchdays
Two games on a Sunday, three on a Saturday and five at 15:30 CEST
The DFL announced the exact dates and times for the opening five matchdays of the new Bundesliga season on Thursday. Due to FSV’s two UEFA Conference League play-off matches, which will be played on Thursdays (21st & 28th August), the club’s opening two fixtures at home to Köln and away at VfL Wolfsburg will be on a Sunday. The following three matches will then be played at the traditional kick-off time on a Saturday afternoon.
The group stage of the Conference League, if Mainz qualify, starts in the first week of October.
