Maxim Dal is joining SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The 20-year-old centre-back leaves Bruchweg after more than ten years, during which he progressed through all of the club’s youth teams before eventually making the step into the first-team squad via the U23s. Dal was also part of the team that sensationally won the German A-Junior Championship in 2023 and reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Youth League the following year. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the details of the transfer.
Mainz 05 sporting director Niko Bungert said: “Maxim is a great guy who has come through almost all of our youth teams. He has excellent potential. However, competition for his position in our Bundesliga squad is currently so strong that his chances of getting playing time there are very limited. We are delighted that he was able to attract attention as a regular starter for our U23s in the Regionalliga and can now take the step into the 2. Bundesliga. We wish Maxim all the very best for his future, both on and off the pitch!”
