Training resumes on 2nd January

After a short break over the Christmas period, the players will keep themselves in shape with individual training plans through to the end of the year. Preparation for the second half of the season then gets underway on the pitch on Friday, 2nd January (14:00 CET), with a public training session at the WOLFGANG FRANK CAMPUS at the Bruchweg. With just eight days between the restart and the first competitive fixture, the 05ers have not scheduled a friendly.

Bundesliga matchday 16 follows on Saturday, 10th January (15:30 CET). Mainz head coach Urs Fischer will face his former club 1. FC Union Berlin, having coached at the capital club for more than five years. Above all, the 05ers will be looking to pick up important points straight away at the start of the year in the relegation battle.
