Veratschnig leaves FSV to join RB Salzburg

Nikolas Veratschnig is set to leave 1. FSV Mainz 05 to return to Austria to join RB Salzburg. The two clubs and the player reached an agreement on the transfer on Monday, with the details of the contract set to remain undisclosed. The 23-year-old featured in 36 Bundesliga games for FSV after joining the club in 2024 from Wolfsberger AC. 

Niko Bungert, FSV sporting director: "Niki fit in exceptionally well within our team, both as a player and as a person, and consistently proved his potential. At the same time, he wasn't able to get the minutes that he would have hoped for, in order to continue progressing. We have therefore granted his request for a move, as the terms of the transfer are also financially acceptable for us. We would like to thank Niki for his efforts at FSV and wish him all the best for the future."
