Mainz 05 sign Otto Ruoppi

Finland U21 international Otto Ruoppi joins 1. FSV Mainz 05. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder arrives from Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS), where he will spend the rest of the current campaign on loan. The two clubs have agreed that transfer details shall remain undisclosed.

Ruoppi will then form part of the first-team squad from 1st July 2026, beginning pre-season preparations at Bruchweg. The 5ft 11 right-footed player provides goal threat and can play across any position in offensive midfield.

Ruoppi, who made 64 competitive appearances in 2025, brings experience of playing in not only Finnish competitions but also youth international set-ups and 14 matches in UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League qualifying.
