“We have to be satisfied with the point”
05ers’ reactions after the draw against Hoffenheim

mAINZ 1-1 Hoffenheim
Niko Bungert: “It’s hard to say whether it’s two points dropped or a point gained. We certainly would have taken a point after the first half. The second 45 minutes looked completely different in every area - we played with confidence and created chances. Even when we were down to ten men, we kept pushing, which says a lot about the team’s character, especially against an opponent who came here with a lot of confidence. All in all, we fully deserved that point.”
Phillipp Mwene: “We have to be satisfied with the point. Robin kept us in the game for a long time. The first half was poor, and the unlucky own goal didn’t help. The positive thing is that we didn’t give up. We adjusted a few things and showed a completely different side of ourselves after the break. The coach fired us up again, but we knew that the first half wasn’t good enough.”
Danny da Costa: “I’d say it’s a point won today, especially after conceding so early. Scoring the goal did me good, as I don’t score very often. It was important not to concede a second goal and to find a way back into the game. We couldn’t have played the way we did in the first half for the entire match. Things went better after the boss spoke to us during the break.”
