“Things like this give the team a boost”

Niko Bungert: “We’re pleased because we were the better team over the 90 minutes, and we deserved to take the lead. The red card was a big factor, as it somewhat demoralised our opponents. They stayed in the game despite that and because we couldn’t find the second goal. Nevertheless, it’s been a positive evening for us, because we were the better side and deserved to win. There were also some nice moments for those guys who haven’t played that much lately. They played well and showed that we can rely on them. We’re in a phase right now where things aren’t going our way, but we dominated the game today and ended up winning. A second or third goal would have been more than deserved, but we were lacking in our finishing. This game has lightened the mood a bit.”

Silvan Widmer: I’m really happy with the game. We’ve got the maximum number of points after two games. The first half was very good in my opinion, but we struggled to keep the same pace in the second half. Our opponents tried to make things difficult for us. They stayed in the game the whole time without having any real goal-scoring opportunities. The only downside today is that we didn’t wrap things up sooner.”

Nelson Weiper: "We would have liked to have created more clear chances, especially with the man advantage. But Mostar played well and defended with a lot of heart. That made things difficult. We didn’t give them many chances and kept pushing for more goals. We now just need points in the Bundesliga. But of course, it’s a boost for us to get a win and be able to celebrate it with the fans."

Ben Bobzien: "I’m feeling alright. It was unfortunate for my opponent, but at the same time it was a clear red card. I knew there’d be rotation for this game and I’m pleased the boss trusted me. I wanted to show what I can do as well as what I’d been instructed to do. I was lucky enough to get myself an assist as a reward. This is a performance we can build off – defensively, we didn’t allow anything, while offensively, there are some areas where we can be more clinical. It was a good game though. Things like this give the team a boost."
