Successful end to international break for 05ers

Weiper, Posch and Mwene secure wins with their national teams, Sano and Potulski also celebrate positive results

Germany U21s with crucial win, Austria beat South Korea, Switzerland draw

Germany’s U21 side won their European Championship qualifier in Greece 2-0 and climbed to the top of the table as the new group leaders. Nelson Weiper came on as a substitute in the 87th minute.

Austria’s national team, featuring Phillipp Mwene and Stefan Posch, secured a narrow 1-0 win in a friendly against South Korea, for whom Jae-sung Lee played 63 minutes. Posch came on at the start of the second half, while Mwene started and played 78 minutes.

Norway and Switzerland played out a goalless draw in their friendly. Silvan Widmer came on in the 66th minute.

Sano and Potulski with wins

Japan beat England 1-0 at Wembley in a friendly. Kaishu Sano played the full 90 minutes after being rested against Scotland.

Kacper Potulski and Poland’s U21s beat Montenegro 2-0 in their European Championship qualifier. Potulski did not feature.
