FSV to face RC Strasbourg in Conference League quarter-final
First leg in Mainz on 9th April before second leg in France on 16th April

The opponents
RC Strasbourg currently sit in eighth place in the French Ligue 1 and overcame Croatian side HNK Rijeka in their round-of-16 tie. A 2-1 win in Rijeka and a 1-1 draw in the second leg was enough to send the French side through to the quarter-finals. The two sides met previously in Mainz on 9th August 2025 during pre-season. The two sides played two friendlies with two different lineups. Mainz won the first game at Bruchweg 2-1, before a goalless draw at the MEWA ARENA. Strasbourg sits in the Alsace region of France, meaning it’s only around 200km away from Mainz. They play their home games at the Stade de la Mainau, which has a capacity of 31,000 spectators. Mainz are entitled to an away allocation of 5%, meaning around 1,550 05ers can join the team in France.
Schedule
The first leg is set for 21:00 CEST on Thursday 9th April at the MEWA ARENA. The second leg will be played in France a week later on 16th April, also at 21:00 CEST.
Potential semi-final opponents
Should Mainz overcome Strasbourg over the two legs, they will face the winner of the other quarter-final taking place on their side of the bracket between AEK Athens (Greece) and Rayo Vallecano (Spain).
