1. FSV Mainz 05 will face Czech top-flight side Sigma Olomouc in the UEFA Conference League round of 16. The draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday afternoon. The ties will be played on 12th March at 21:00 CET (away) and, in the decisive second leg, on 19th March at 18:45 CET in Mainz. The exact kick-off times have yet to be confirmed.
Mainz’s board member for sport and communication Christian Heidel commented: “Sigma Olomouc may not come from one of Europe’s big leagues, but they still deserve our utmost respect. They can look back on a number of European campaigns in their club’s history and have already shown this Conference League season that they can be a tough and resilient side. For our fans, it’s another interesting away trip on what has already been an exciting journey.”
