Anthony Caci signs new deal until 2028
Mainz’s flying Frenchman has put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension

It’s official: Anthony Caci is here to stay! The 28-year-old has extended his current contract, due to run out at the end of the season, by two years until the summer of 2028. Caci arrived in Mainz on a free transfer from Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg in 2022, and has since made 107 competitive appearances for the club, racking up five goals and 14 assists across the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and UEFA Conference League qualifiers so far. The dynamic wing-back, who is currently working on his recovery from a muscular injury, has developed into a key component of head coach Bo Henriksen’s side.
"a great sign for the club, the first team and the fans.“
Sporting director Niko Bungert said: “Anthony Caci has become a crucial player for us, and is a real fan favourite as well. He’s been through so many highs and lows with us during his time at the club, and has always been there to help the side when most needed. His confidence on the ball, his reading of the game and the incredible progress he’s made defensively all combine to make him a perfect fit out on our flank. The fact that he’s decided to renew his contract at this moment is a great sign for the club, the first team and the fans.”
Anthony Caci continued: “A contract extension here at Mainz 05 is the perfect decision for me – I feel unbelievably settled here, my family don’t live too far away either and come to Mainz for every game. I thought it was really important to extend at a time like this, to show how deeply I care about this club and the fans here. I can really feel the trust that I get from the coach and the rest of the team every day, and the fans are world class. That keeps me so motivated, and I’m working hard every day to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible and start helping the boys again, so that we can give our all for the fans and start to really kick on in our season.”
