Six 05ers called up for international duty

Players expected back in Mainz on 27th March

Brajan Gruda and Germany U21s have two European qualifiers coming up.

Six players from 1. FSV Mainz 05 have been called up to represent their respective nations over the upcoming international break.

Leandro Barreiro and Luxembourg will take on Georgia in their UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying play-off. They would face the winner of Greece against Kazakhstan should they win that one. Switzerland, with Silvan Widmer in their squad, are set to play two friendlies against Denmark and the Republic of Ireland, while Phillipp Mwene and Austria will travel to Slovakia and host Turkey, also in friendlies. Meanwhile, Jae-sung Lee and South Korea will go up against Thailand in two World Cup qualifiers. Norway and Andreas Hanche-Olsen are due to play friendlies against Czechia and Slovakia. The other player in action is Brajan Gruda. He is in the Germany U21s squad for European qualifiers against Kosovo and Israel. All players are expected back in Mainz on Wednesday, 27th March.
