Over the past weekend, several Mainz players were in action for their home nations.

On Sunday, Jonathan Burkardt was the first Zerofiver in action, as the Germany U20s recorded a 1-0 vicotry over their Swiss counterparts. Burkardt provided the assist for the only goal of the game shortly after coming off the bench. Ádám Szalai was involved for the full 90 minutes as Hungary triumphed 1-0 over Azerbaijan. Karim Onisiwo features as a substitute in Austria’s 1-0 win over Slovenia, he was brought off the bench in the 83rd minute.
