Sandro Schwarz extends his contract until 2022
Schröder: He lives and breathes our football
On Thursday, Mainz 05 decided to extend head coach Sandro Schwarz’s contract, which was initially ending in 2020, to 2022. Schwarz, who was born in Mainz, began his carrier as a coach in the Mainz youth teams and in the summer of 2017 was promoted to head coach of the first team. As well as Schwarz, assistant coaches Jan-Moritz Lichte and Michael Falkenmayer have both extended their contracts as well.
Sporting director Rouven Schröder said: “Sandro Schwarz completely trusts the club, which shows in his everyday high quality, highly professional and immense passion in training. Sandro lives and breathes our football, he works meticulously on the development of the team, he is clear in his analysis and leadership of the team. He has already mastered difficult periods and has grown from them whilst staying to himself and his way of work. With his passion and consistency, he embodies the clubs values. To bind him long term, is an important step for the stability and development of Mainz 05.”
