Pierre-Gabriel and Akono sidelined with muscle strain and bone bruise
Both new signings were diagnosed with injuries on Thursday, a day after the friendly against Vallecano
Both Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel and Cyrill Akono underwent a medical on Thursday after being injured during yesterday’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano. Both players will be out for the foreseeable future.
Right-back Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel picked up a muscle strain in his left adductor during yesterday’s friendly against Spanish second-division side Rayo Vallecano, and is expected to miss the next two to three weeks.
Not all bad news for Akono
In the same match, Cyrill Akono picked up a bone bruise in his right knee and will also have to sit out. A more serious knee injury was luckily ruled out following a medical. It is unclear at this point how long he will be out for, depending on the healing process.
Both players will remain with the team at training camp in Grassau in order to receive treatment.
