Gbamin moves to England

Jean-Philippe Gbamin has left 1. FSV Mainz 05 to sign for Everton in the Premier League. Both clubs agreed the final terms on Friday. The 23-year-old has signed a contract until 2024 at the ‘Toffees’.
Gbamin moved to Mainz in 2016 from French side RC Lens and made 86 Bundesliga appearances for the Zerofivers, scoring three goals.
Sporting director Rouven Schröder said: “Jean-Philippe is a key example of a talented player developing greatly at Mainz 05. Since joining us three years ago, he has been watched by a number of European clubs. His professionalism and patience in this time has allowed him to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League. We would like to wish him all the best for his future and will carry on following his progress.”
