FLORIAN MÜLLER MOVES TO VFB STUTTGART
Heidel: "We let him go with a happy and a crying eye".
Florian Müller will play for VfB Stuttgart from the coming season. Mainz 05 has reached an agreement with the Swabians on the transfer of the 23-year-old goalkeeper, and he will receive a contract in Stuttgart until 2025. Müller comes from the Zerofiver academy and came through the junior teams of Mainz from the U17 level onwards. In Mainz, he developed into a Bundesliga player and goalkeeper for the German U21 national team. Last season, Müller was loaned out to SC Freiburg.
We let Florian Müller go with one happy and one crying eye
"We are letting Florian Müller go with one eye happy and one eye crying. He has developed from our academy into a seasoned Bundesliga player whose career we are very proud of. Due to the great competition in this position with three very talented goalkeepers from our own youth team, we decided to take this path together with Florian, also because our economic expectations in connection with this transfer are fulfilled. We wish Florian all the best for his future, both athletically and privately, and will continue to follow his path with great sympathy," said Christian Heidel, Sporting Director of Mainz 05.
