Five Zerofivers away on international duty

Five players will be representing their countries in the Nations League and U21 EURO qualifying

Anton Stach made his senior Germany debut against Israel in March (2-0 win).

Following a short summer break after the end of the 2021/22 Bundesliga season, Leandro Barreiro, Jonny Burkardt, Karim Onisiwo, Anton Stach and Silvan Widmer will be back on the pitch in the coming days. The quintet will be in action with their respective national teams in the Nations League and U21 EURO qualifying.

Silvan Widmer and Switzerland will take on the Czech Republic in the Nations League on 2nd June (20:45 CEST). On Friday, 3rd June, Jonny Burkardt will captain the Germany U21s as they take on Hungary in U21 EURO qualifying action. Karim Onisiwo and Austria will face off against Croatia in the Nations League later that evening (20:45 CEST). The next day, Leandro Barreiro and Luxembourg will take on Lithuania, with Anton Stach in action with Germany as they play Italy in the Nations League.

Both Barreiro and Widmer had previously been critical of the timing of the international break, with the Zerofivers due to begin pre-season training on 21st June.
